Seeking Infrastructure Support Engineer for positions in downtown Washington DC to support a virtualized mixed Windows and Linux-based cloud environment utilized by software development teams. You?ll join our team supporting the construction of the next-generation of an Internet-facing customer engagement system for a federal agency.



Position Descriptions



•Work with software developers and build engineers to configure and maintain systems, network and storage resources in a VMware virtualized environment

•Create and manage tickets and incidents with the customer?s IT organization to remove impediments from the development and build engineering teams

•Assist developers and build engineers with VM configuration, access, networking and security issues related to both Windows Server 2008 or and RHEL Linux 6.1 environments

•Maintain and manage inventory of network resources (VMs, IPs, user accounts, etc.)

•Assist in defining and maintaining firewall rule sets

•Document systems and network configuration, environment and processes

•Professionally and reliably communicate status on infrastructure issues, action plans and time to resolution



Requirements

•7-10 years of experience in systems and network administration in a mixed Windows 2008 and RHEL Linux 6.1 environment

•Hands-on experience with setting up and maintain LDAP, Windows AD, Red Hat directory services and other authentication and authorization systems

•Knowledge of and hands-on experience VMware virtualization technology

•Knowledge of and experience troubleshooting of networking protocols including TCP, UDP, IP, DNS, HTTP, SSL?

•Experience working in fast-paced, client-facing operational environments, running business/mission critical systems is required

•Experience with software installation using shell scripts is highly desirable

•Strong written and verbal communication skills required, as this position is responsible for providing visibility on the status of infrastructure issues
