As part of their ongoing mission to innovate and provide cutting-edge insights, they are seeking a highly skilled Principal Data Scientist to join their dynamic AI strategies team. As a Principal Data Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in leveraging data-driven approaches to enhance the understanding of reader behavior, optimizing content delivery strategies, and driving innovative product development initiatives. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including editorial, product, engineering, and business intelligence to deliver actionable insights and solutions that drive business outcomes and reader engagement. Key Responsibilities: - Lead and execute end-to-end data science projects, from problem formulation and data exploration to model development, evaluation, and deployment.
- Apply advanced machine learning techniques to analyze large-scale datasets and extract actionable insights that inform editorial decisions, audience engagement strategies, and product enhancements.
- Develop and deploy predictive models to optimize content recommendations, personalize user experiences, and improve reader retention.
- Drive innovation by researching and implementing state-of-the-art methodologies and technologies in machine learning, natural language processing, and data mining.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate machine learning models into production systems and optimize performance at scale.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior data scientists, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation. Required Skills and Experience:
- Advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred) in computer science, statistics, mathematics, or a related field.
- Extensive experience (7+ years) in applied machine learning and data science, with a proven track record of delivering impactful solutions in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Python programming and experience with data science libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, scikit-learn, and pandas.
- Strong expertise in designing and implementing machine learning algorithms, including deep learning, reinforcement learning, and ensemble methods.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS (Amazon Web Services), including familiarity with services like S3, EC2, SageMaker, and Redshift.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
