The Senior Product Manager, Schools holds a pivotal role in steering the direction, development, and launch of ERAS products that support the Schools vertical. They are responsible for crafting a product vision for the Schools vertical, strategizing the product roadmap, and ensuring its execution aligns with the overarching goals of ERAS and the AAMC. Additionally, the Senior Product Manager, Schools is responsible for working across the organization to partner with different teams (e.g., CiM, VSLO) to bring in insights from groups which support Advisors in their advisement of students applying to residency positions. This role requires a keen understanding of the Graduate Medical Education (GME) market, including customer needs and the competitive landscape, to build products that not only meet but exceed market demands and further the mission of the AAMC. Collaborates closely with engineering, design, communications, and customer support to bring product concepts to life. Identifies and prioritizes product features, manages the product lifecycle from ideation through launch, and makes critical decisions based on data-driven insights. Engages with customers, analyzes product performance, and adapts strategies accordingly. Leads product development projects of varying size and has accountability for ongoing activities related to projects, programs, and/or operations. Applies in-depth professional level knowledge to independently solve a full range of complex problems and offers sensible solutions. Evaluates new product ideas for the Schools vertical. Works collaboratively with ERAS Product and engineering teams to develop cross-functional solutions and manages impacts across the ERAS portfolio. Analyzes market trends and competitor data. Ensures product meets market demands and customer needs. Job Description: How will you make an impact? - Evaluate and prioritize new product ideas, feature requests, and bugs.
- Leads the creation and dissemination of product requirements documentation by collaborating with partner teams (e.g., ERAS product, engineering, UX) during product design and development to implement the requirements.
- Conducts feasibility studies and impact assessments.
- Works with stakeholders to validate assumptions and refine product concepts based on their feedback.
- Maintains and prioritizes the product backlog, ensuring alignment with product strategy and user needs.
- Owns and defines roadmaps for Schools vertical.
- Secures buy-in for product vision that supports the overall product narrative and direction for the School vertical.
- Identifies and manages validation of market opportunities and customer needs.
- Sets product goals and defines success metrics at the project level and product level.
- Aligns product initiatives with ERAS and organizational goals.
- Communicates priorities, experiments, and decisions across a wide spectrum of internal audiences.
- Conducts user interviews and surveys to collect valuable information about end-user behavior and user needs.
- Analyzes user feedback for trends, new insights, and product opportunities.
- Share findings with partner teams (e.g., ERAS business team, engineering, UX).
- Integrates user insights into the product development process.
- Advocates for customer and stakeholder needs.
- Attends specialty and/or AAMC-led conferences and meetings to stay abreast of trends in graduate medical education and builds relationships with constituents. Qualifications:
