This Financial Analyst position will be on a dynamic team, supporting Team SubmarineBring your expertise and collaborative skills to make an impact towards our military defense and safety of our sailorsYou must have an Active or Current Secret clearanceSerco supports the US Navy as a prime for their Team Submarine contract supporting the acquisition of submarinesThe Team Submarine concept unifies once diverse submarine-related activities into a single submarine-centric organization with the goal of eliminating traditional stovepipe structures and processes that created impediments and inefficiencies in the submarine research, development, acquisition, and maintenance communitiesTeam Submarine provides improved communication among the various offices that contribute to the overall success of the United States Submarine ForceSerco is seeking a motivated individual to provide business, financial, and programmatic support to one of our NAVSEA customersSerco has an opening for a financial analyst to support an active contract with the U.SNavy in the Washington, DC areaIn this role, you will:--- Provide daily support to Financial Management team.--- Provide financial analyst services including data gathering, budget and financial analysis, and trend analysis.--- Be responsible for various financial functions such as budgeting, auditing, forecasting and analysis.--- Collect and review financial data from various sources.--- Create, maintain, and update financial databases and spreadsheets, and generates various financial reports as requiredMaintains appropriate records and documentation.--- Provide financial models and financial statements, applies forecasting techniques, and evaluates performance against budget submissions.--- Coordinate with Branch Head and field activities to establish funding priorities.--- Reconcile spend plans according to Resource Management Plan and weekly status reports.--- Compile and submit Task Assignment Sheets to initiate financial transactions.--- Provide biweekly metrics reports to Business Financial Manager.--- Track and reconcile funds obligation and expenditure status.--- Assist Financial Analysts in resolving accounting discrepancies.--- Respond to financial data calls.--- Provide draft input for Congressional budget exhibits.--- Reconcile Spend Plans to match the Resource Management Plans.--- Coordinate with the field activities to establish timely receipt of reimbursable funds.--- Track direct site funds sent out on ZFD PR Addendums.--- Review and develop analytical and technical input needed in order to evaluate documentation and development of briefs to ensure accurate, timely and essential information is provided to decision makers.--- Prepare Unclassified and Classified briefs for audiences up to and including the Flag level--- Conduct meetings with specified Program Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).--- Set high personal standards for performance/conduct.--- Demonstrate the ability to be a team player; works well with others; contributes positively to work/team environment while continually seeks ways to enhance contribution to the team Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will have:--- A current or active DoD Secret security clearance.--- A Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance, or related field is desiredIn lieu of a degree, Serco will consider a candidate with three or more years' experience directly supporting a Navy customer in a business or financial capacity.--- A successful candidate should have knowledge of the Navy's Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution processes and policies.--- Ideal candidate will have experience in:--- Budget Automation and Process Improvement--- Cost Analysis--- Data Management and Analysis--- Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and--- Other DoN financial automated and budgeting systems to perform financial execution functions.--- Two to four year's work experience the DoD or the Armed Services.--- A strong skill set in the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.--- The ability to work both in a team environment and independently, and often under short, multiple deadlines.--- Experience working in Navy environments, specifically within Team Submarine or submarines in general.--- Knowledge of DoD policies, NAVSEASYSCOM/Team Submarine policies and procedures.--- The ability to travel at least 10% of the timeTo perform this job successfully, you must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorilyThe requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.--- Problem Solving--- Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner;
