Health Policy Director Location: This position will work a hybrid model (remote and office). The ideal candidate will live within 50 miles of one of our Elevance Health PulsePoint locations in Washington DC, Atlanta, GA, Mason, OH, Indianapolis, IN. The Health Policy Director - is responsible for maintaining a portfolio of public policy issues facing the company and leading related activities related to specialty pharmacy policy . How You Will Make an Impact: - Maintains a portfolio of public policy issues related to pharmacy and infusion policy.
- Leads related public policy activities focused on pharmacy and infusion issues including:
- Develops positions that support enterprise objectives, ensures availability of persuasive advocacy materials, coordinates related activities, and facilitates the flow of information between impacted areas.
- Leading the development of analysis and feedback in response to proposed federal and state legislation, federal regulations, and state board of pharmacy actions.
- Developing public policy issue briefs, persuasive advocacy materials, comment letters, talking points, or fact sheets, as needed;
- Reviews regulatory alerts, drafts federal regulatory comments, and ensures Regulatory Affairs and the Mandates organization have timely background policy and legislative information needed to move forward on the implementation of key legislation or regulations.
- Monitors, evaluates, and tracks proposed legislation and regulations to identify public policy issues, assess the impact on the business, and develop recommendations and/or solutions.
- Partners with Public Affairs and State/Federal Government Affairs areas to achieve business initiatives.
- Participates in workgroups hosted by external industry groups to identify public policy issues impacting the company and to influence their positions, tactics, and strategies to more effectively support enterprise goals.
- Serves as a resource to other associates and advises on policy issues and supports businesses with regular legislative and regulatory updates. Minimum Requirements: Requires a BA/BS in a related field; a minimum of 8 years of experience in health policy development; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.
