THE ROLE: NextGen America is currently seeking a Special Projects Manager to oversee the success of various projects and tasks. The Project Manager is responsible for the development and leadership of how tasks are executed, with the overall goal of assuring the highest quality and integrity of each project to support accurate, consistent and timely information to internal and external stakeholders in the service of NextGen America's vision and mission. The ideal candidate has a passion for politics and a belief that young people will make the difference in politics. The candidate will need to be detail-oriented in managing projects and tasks while also being able to understand the strategic implications of their projects. FLSA Classification: Exempt Remote Position: Yes Union Position: No Travel Requirements: 0-10% End Date: 11/15/2024 WHAT YOU'LL ACHIEVE: - Responsible for the initiation, planning, execution, monitor and control, and closing of projects as they relate to a wide variety of campaign tactics.
- Participate in meetings to ensure accountability, track follow up, communicating with and organizing a diverse set of stakeholders to see projects to completion.
- Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
- Developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring feasibility.
- Ensure that project management methodologies include the steps, activities and deliverables required to consistently achieve high quality projects.
- Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques.
- There is a change management element to the role that will focus on ensuring that all teams are adopting project management tools correctly and quality is being tracked to enhance operational efficiency.
- Communicate plans, status, issues and areas that need improvement to management.
- Perform other duties as assigned. ABOUT YOU:
- Campaign, government, and/or non-profit experience
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience in project or campaign management
- Competency in project management and execution of multiple or large projects.
- Leadership competency with strong abilities in relationship management.
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and process management skills.
- Successfully developed and implemented new work processes or process improvements.
- Ability to work across departments and interact with stakeholders and members of the management team in order to solve problems and execute strategic initiatives.
- Excellent communication as well as receptive listening skills, with ability to present complex ideas in a concise and objective manner to both technical and business audiences.
- Ability to work remotely in a highly collaborative distributed environment
- Excellent team player able to work with virtual functional teams.
- Comfortable working remotely in a highly collaborative distributed workforce setting. BONUS POINTS FOR:
- Certification in project management (PMP and/or CAPM)
- Experience as a political or community organizer.
- Experience leading multi discipline and high performing teams. SALARY INFORMATION:
The starting salary range for this position is $72,000-$90,000. The final base salary will be determined by various factors, including individual qualifications and internal parity, which will be objectively assessed during the interview process.
