Join us!THE ROLEAt The Streamable, we are simplifying digital streaming and are looking for a Director of Content to develop the best content on the web for cord-cutting. You have a sharp editorial eye; the skills of an SEO manager; and the ability to lead a high-performing team. As an expert in the streaming space, you will oversee the editorial strategy, SEO, and content produced by your team of freelance writers to ensure that your breaking news content flows seamlessly to get the most traffic and drive the most revenue. Our team consists of experienced marketers who spent the last 10+ years in the affiliate space -- most recently on the executive team at Ebates, plus a crew of freelance writers. You will work closely with our leadership team and the greater VerticalScope team to ensure growth of readership and optimize revenue. This is an exciting opportunity to join the leading destination site to turn newbie cord-cutters into happy streamers.WHAT YOU'LL DO - Build and execute the overall content strategy to create and maintain top quality evergreen content
- Work with our News Editor to build out workflows for daily content posts
- Design and implement the SEO strategies to improve our organic reach, using our content to build awareness of The Streamable brand and drive overall traffic growth
- Coordinate site content optimization and keyword expansion for maximum site exposure
- Oversee the paid search and social media campaigns
- Build and manage a high-quality team of freelance writers to ensure ample coverage and to execute on the strategy and goals that you set forward - discovering content, drafting pitches, and collaborating with you to continuously hone in on their craft
- Assign, proofread, and edit all content created by your teamABOUT YOU
- 5+ years experience in online content, either as a writer or an editor
- An enthusiastic expert in the world of streaming services and devices
- Proven ability to shape the "voice" of the site
- Experience in online content optimization and SEO
- Experience hiring and managing freelance writers or equivalent creative professionals
- Familiarity with relevant SEO, marketing, and web analytics tools; including but not limited to Conductor, SEMRush, Screaming Frog, MOZ, Google Analytics, WebTrends
- Proven track record of time-management and deadline accountability, experience juggling multiple short- and long-term deadlines
- Proven ability to take initiative and work efficiently with little direction
- Analytical mindset with numerical aptitude and strong critical thinking skills
