Job Summary:The MRI Technologist will operate a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scanner to produce images of the patient's body for diagnostic purposes. The technologist will be expected to provide patient-centered compassionate care under the guidance of the COO, Operations Manager and Assistant Operations Manager, and MRI supervisor. The technologist will perform their duties according to departmental and organizational policies and procedures and demonstrate exceptional service excellence in all interactions.Essential Responsibilities:Performs MRI procedures on designated portions of the body for use by physicians in the diagnosing and treating of patient illness and/or injury and is proficient with advanced imaging.Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contraindications pertaining to the examination.Ordering medical supplies as neededTraining MRI studentsThoroughly explains the procedure to the patient to offer them emotional support to endure and complete the exam.Prepares patients for MRI procedures that will be performed, explaining the procedure, positioning patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately scanned, and providing patient support by talking to patients throughout procedure.Assists with the training of new MRI technologists.Performs other duties as assigned by their supervisorSkills and Abilities:Performs quality and compassionate patient care in order to ensure cooperation, safety, and satisfaction.Ability to comply with all HIPAA requirements.Will present themselves in a friendly and courteous manner.Maintains equipment in good working order; cleans and disinfects equipment after each useMaintains a positive attitude and working relationships with radiologists, provider offices and other associates and peers.Experience/Educational requirements:EDUCATION: Graduation from an A.M.A. approved Radiology program.
