  • Establish and enforce quality standards and conduct material and product testing to ensure product quality.
  • Maintain ISO9001 certification and support customer audits.
  • Act as the primary customer quality interface, ensuring full compliance with high efficiency.
  • Conduct contract reviews for all customer quality requirements and ensure proper flow-down to suppliers.
  • Serve as the primary Point of Contact (POC) for the on-site US Government Quality Assurance Representative (QAR).
  • Ensure suppliers meet quality requirements and implement root cause and corrective actions as needed.
  • Develop in-process product inspection standards and establish criteria for finished product disposition.
  • Lead the Material Review Board process and set rework standards.
  • Establish and update quality assurance procedures and maintain product quality in compliance with government requirements.
  • Collaborate with management on new product development and engineering designs.
  • Prepare product and process quality reports and submit accurate test reports and qualification data for customer approval.
  • Assign and oversee quality assurance operational tasks and manage the quality department staff.
  • Recruit, select, train, and manage quality department employees.
  • Stay updated on professional and technical knowledge in the field.
  • Prepare and manage the quality assurance budget, analyze variances, and take corrective actions to achieve financial objectives. Profile NON NEGOTIABLE - will not consider candidates without the following experience
    • Established experience in the defense or aerospace industries
    • Minimum of 3 years of management experience
    • Ability to commute or relocate to Rhode Island
    • ISO9001 experience The Ideal Candidate:
      • BA or BS in a technical discipline, preferably Mechanical Engineering.
      • Proficiency in using quality assurance measuring and testing equipment.
      • Five to 10 years of progressive Quality experience, including serving as a Quality Manager in a high-compliance manufacturing environment within an ISO or AS approved facility.
      • Familiarity with quality system requirements, particularly for US Navy contracts and specifications.
      • Experience with Microsoft Office suite of products.
      • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States to meet ITAR requirements for defense products.
      • Ability to travel up to 10%, including occasional international travel. Job Offer
