Hartford Hospital is one of the largest and most respected teaching hospitals New England. We are a Level 1 Trauma Center that provides cutting edge treatment to its patients. This is made possible by being home to the largest robotic surgery center in the Northeast and the Center for Education, Simulation and Innovation (CESI), one of the most-advanced medical simulation training centers in the world. When hospitals cannot provide the advanced care, expertise and new treatment options their patients require, they turn to us.
The Specialty Clinic (BS 5) is located at 79 Retreat St. on the fifth floor of the Brownstone building of Hartford Hospital and in the MOB. - BS-5 clinic has over 4,500 patient visits annually. - There are over 10 different specialty clinics held on various days of the week. Clinics include services from Cardiology, ENT, Breast, Gastro, Urology/Cysto, Trauma, General Surgery, Neurology/Epilepsy, Bloodless Surgery, and Pulmonary. - Staffing includes attendings, PA, fellows, residents, RNs, MA, MAA and Data Manager. - BS-5 staff guides patients through the health system, including appropriate referrals for services to other health professionals.
Job Summary:
Provides holistic, quality and cost-effective nursing care for patients/families and/or others for a patient population within a unit, service or other primary area of practice with an awareness of the episode of care. Applies the nursing process within the context of the organization's Framework for Professional Practice. Functions as clinically competent. Delegates and supervises work appropriately. Reports to Unit Manager.Qualifications - - - - - - - - Current Connecticut RN License.
- - - - - - - - Graduate of an accredited nursing school ASN preferred, BSN Required.
BLS certification by the American Heart Association Certification required prior to date of hire. -
