Because we are part of Yale New Haven Health, our patients have access to all the resources of one of the country's leading health systems, including our affiliated hospitals where Northeast Medical Group physicians also care for patients:This is an exciting opportunity to join an expanding advanced practice neurosurgery team. The Position:

• Makes daily rounds on neurosurgical patients on the floors and in the ICU
• Evaluation of pre and postoperative neurosurgical patients and implements appropriate management
• Interprets laboratory and diagnostic test results
• Documents daily notes (H&P, operative notes, progress notes, consults, etc)
• Prescribes medications and treatment modalities as indicated
• Works closely with the trauma team in the evaluation and management of patients with traumatic brain and spine injuries
  • Collaborates with attending physicians, residents, nursing staff, and/or other care providers to ensure optimum quality of patient care
  • Coordinates discharge process for the neurosurgical patients, including prescriptions, outpatient referrals, educated patients of the necessary post-discharge care instructions
  • Opportunity to assist in OR
  • Ability to participate in the monthly Neurosurgery and Trauma M&M conferences
  • Is part of a growing service that will require flexibility within the schedule and may include rotational shifts in the futureRequirements:
    • Bachelor's Degree, required. Graduate of an accredited (Accreditation Review Committee for Physician Assistant Programs ARC-PA) program, required.
      • Current Connecticut license to practice as a Physician Assistant (PA)
      • Current NCCPA Certification from the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), required.
      • Current BLS certification, required.
      • Experience preferred. Will consider new graduates with a demonstrated interest in the field of neurology.We are proud to offer:
