Our clinical RDs are highly integrated within the multidisciplinary team on the inpatient units and outpatient clinics at Children's Hospital Colorado. The Clinical Dietitian Associate develops the skills to provide comprehensive, safe, and ethical medical nutrition therapy to patients, families, and other clients in inpatient or outpatient settings. This is an outpatient position supporting the Lifestyle Medicine and Special Care Clinic program.The Clinical Dietitian Senior a lead team member who provides comprehensive, safe, and ethical medical nutrition therapy to patients, families, and other clients in inpatient or outpatient settings. Leads quality improvement activities and advances the practice of dietetics through professional leadership activities. Additional Information Department Name: Clinical Nutrition - Lifestyle Medicine & Special Care Clinic (outpatient) Job Status: Full-Time; 40 hours/week - eligible for benefits Shift: M - F, 5x8 hour shifts Qualifications EDUCATION - Bachelor's Degree EXPERIENCE - Six (6) years clinical nutrition is required.. Strong preference for candidates with experience in pediatrics including weight management and enteral feeding.LICENSURES -Registered Dietitians (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDN) adhering to the Commission of Dietetic Registration guidelines. Provides nutrition therapy for patients with a variety of diagnosis, in an inpatient or outpatient setting as needed. Incorporates principles of culture-competence and family-centered care into clinical services.Completes written documentation of medical nutrition therapy provided in accordance with department standards for format, content, and time frames. Completes nutrition focused physical exam by evaluating body systems, mid-upper arm circumference, triceps skinfold, muscle, and subcutaneous fat wasting, feeding ability, oral health, skin condition, appetite and affect if applicable for patient care.Provides education and nutrition counseling to patients and families. Participates in the updating and development of nutrition education materials as needed.Assists interns, students and peers in their clinical practice and professional development.Collaborates with the family, medical team, schools, home care companies and other providers as appropriate to provide continuum of care for the patient and clinical services and outcomes.Contributes to clinical services and outcomes through rounds, care conferences and care coordination.Documents patient care time and activities for use with benchmarking, billing and productivity.Participates in quality management processes and work groups to make operational improvements.Shares on committees, task forces, and workgroups, and projects that support the organization mission.
