Labor RelationsManagerRESPONSIBILITIESImplements and maintains the plant s labor relations programs and proceduresEnsures satisfactory labor-management relations and helps interpret collective bargaining agreementsLeads grievance procedures including arbitrations and assists all levels of management on labor mattersProvides input to strategic decisions that affect the his/her functional area of responsibility and capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments i.e. legal, compliance, worker s compensationStay current on Federal, State and case laws changes and monitor labor law updates for changes that affect Human ResourcesConducts research on union related matters; analyze CBAs to develop interpretation of intent, spirit, and terms of contracts; serve on and represent management in labor contract negotiations.QUALIFICATIONS:Prior experience in unionized environmentrequired2-3 years experience on Industry or other manufacturing settingStrong communication and public speaking skillsPHR or SPHR preferredBilingual skills preferredREQUIRED COMPETENCIES:Analytical - ability to synthesize complex or diverse informationProblem Solving - ability to identify and resolve problems in a manner; ability to skillfully gather and analyze informationOral Communication - ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; ability to demonstrate group presentation skillsDelegation - ability to delegate work assignments, give authority to work independently, set expectations and monitor delegated activitiesLeadership - ability to inspire and motivate others to perform well, accepts feedback from othersManagement Skills - ability to include staff in planning, decision making and process improvement.
