POSITION SUMMARY The Senior Tax Accountant will be a key member of the Alterra Mountain Company corporate tax team. This position will support all aspects of the corporate tax function including, but not limited to, compliance, research, and reporting. This position is ideal for an individual with public accounting experience ready to transition to the outdoor industry. ESSENTIAL DUTIES General Responsibilities - Prepare U.S. federal, state, and Canadian income tax returns
- Ensure reporting/payments of taxes are performed timely and accurately
- Minimize tax liability through sound and informed application of laws and regulations
- Prepare the quarterly and year-end ASC 740 tax provision and disclosures; manage the related tax accounts for financial reporting
- Prepare reconciliation and analysis of tax provision to tax return and related true ups
- Prepare annual transfer pricing allocations and related compliance
- Research, analyze, and interpret new and proposed federal, state, and local tax law changes that may have a significant impact to the company
- Complete FBAR reporting
- Respond to tax notices in a timely matter
- Assist with domestic and foreign income tax audits
- Support strategic tax planning and forecasting
- Support implementation of M&A related transactions and help ensure all new deadlines and deliverables are met
- Complete other tax projects as needed, such as researching and calculating various tax credits and refunds, analyze earnings and profits, and reconcile tax accounts
- Maintain tax calendar and manage deadlines on all filing requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS - Minimum of 3 years corporate income tax experience, public accounting experience preferred
- Provision experience and strong knowledge of current tax law and accounting principles
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 and OneStream preferred
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks
- Self-motivated and results driven
- Detail oriented
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Strong Excel skills
