Job Duties and Responsibilities DISH is actively seeking a skilled Staff Operation Engineer to join our dynamic technology teams. Join us at DISH, where you can contribute to shaping the future of technology and connecting consumers with the products and platforms of tomorrow. -Key Responsibilities: - Deploy and debug cloud stack, educating teams on new cloud projects and ensuring the security of the cloud infrastructure
- Drive automation at all stages of software development, release, operations, and maintenance
- Participate in conversations with various teams to brainstorm for new ideas and ways to improve development delivery
- Research open source technologies to help us solve automation problems
- Provide technical guidance and educate Development teams on CI/CD, Automation toolsets and processes
- Manage Devops function and responsibilities for Sling platform
- Support and Enhance existing tools, platforms and processes; Ex. Kubernetes, Rancher, Docker, Bash Scripting
- Carry out maintenance in line with organizational guidelines
- Support severity based outages during the 24/7 shifts and support model
Skills, Experience and Requirements Education and Experience: - Bachelor's degree in CS, engineering, software engineering, or related field
- At least 8 years IT ExperienceSkills and Qualifications:
- Experience with:
- Linux Operating System and Bash scripting
- Containerization & Container Scheduling technologies, like Docker, Rancher, Kubernetes
- CI / CD Tools & DevOps Culture, like Gitlab CI, Jenkins, Helm
- Frameworks/Languages, like Spring, Java, GOlang, PHP, Python
- Infrastructure and configuration as code solutions, including Terraform, Ansible, or cloudinit
- Working experience with AWS
- Highly motivated, driven & hard working
- Detail and result oriented
- Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management
- Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
- Good software development skills, strong analytical abilities, effective problem-solving skills
