Large, well established, multi facility food/bakery manufacturer is looking for an experienced Plant Engineer/Dir. Engineering. Must have at least 5 years of experince in a managerial role over team of Maintenance Techs. Offering nice salary and benefits. Please see below for add'l. information.Direct, plan, control and monitor the overall operation of the maintenance department to ensure the continuous ability of the equipment to service our customers while maintaining high standards in quality, food safety, and safety and meeting the department s budget. Implement and manage continuous improvement and modern manufacturing principals by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices and processes.Essential FunctionsDirects the coordination of all the Maintenance departments
functions to ensure compliance with the Company s Vision and Mission StatementsResponsible for planned schedule creation and overseeing the adherence and timely completion of work carried out.Increase the site operational effectiveness, improve on project delivery, mean time between failure and downtime reduction, and manage and implement improvement plans.Monitors the performance of outside contractors regarding quality of work as well as timely execution of work performed.Ensure the building and equipment is properly maintained and complies with all OSHA regulations and Food Safety requirements established by BRC, GFSI, and AIB StandardsKey player in the developing, implementing, and measuring compliance to departmental budget, goals, and objectives.Monitor and ensure work order system operates effectively (ensure safety, food safety and other operational work orders are addressed promptly)Responsible for compliance, maintaining, and improving the preventive maintenance program and scheduleResponsible to ensure all plant equipment is properly maintained per manufacturer recommendations and in accordance with the preventive maintenance scheduleResponsible to modify and/or suggest modifications to the equipment upon management approval, to improve its overall performance, safety or food safety operation.Develop and implement improvements and changes in the work instructions, job descriptions and training needs.Keep employees informed on factors relating to their work assignment, work progress, and opportunity for advancement.Train mechanics and production personnel in troubleshooting techniques and equipment operation.Must be able to keep administrative paperwork current regarding schedules, inspections, inventories and management reports.Perform other duties as assigned.Safety:Act as a champion of Safety in the bakery, demonstrating and reinforcing its critical importance at every opportunity.Work with HR to coordinate and document required trainings.Participate in the investigation of accidents and near misses.Cooperate with the established Return-To-Work policies for Worker s Compensation related injuries.Monitor GMP and Food Safety rule compliance; address issues promptly and document.With the QA Manager, ensure compliance with HACCP program and SQF regulations. Ensure appropriate preparation for, and participate in, planned and spontaneous audits.Bakery or Food Manufacturing Industry RequirementsMinimum of 5 years
experience in a managerial role, with oversight of a team of Maintenance TechniciansMust have an understanding and become skilled at the unique equipment in a commercial bakery production plant, along with operation of that equipment relative to the baking process from the engineering perspective required.Equipment troubleshooting ability to ensure optimum efficiency and product quality.Must have electrical control experience and PLC troubleshooting experience.General RequirementsBachelor s Degree or equivalent experienceMust be skilled at building partnerships within the department.Effectively leads, coaches, trains and motivates people to ensure Company goals are met.Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OutlookAble to thrive in a constantly changing environment.Maintain regular, consistent attendance & punctuality.
