The Role:We're seeking our first Sales and Business Development hire to work with the Chief Business Officer and founding team in driving revenue by securing strategic biopharma clients. You'll manage a pipeline of top accounts, focusing globally on rare diseases in neurology, cardiology, neuromuscular, and hematology, to name a few. Your insights will help shape our strategic priorities, product roadmap, and go-to-market strategy while supporting the growth of the team and acting as a player-coach.This is a remote role and we are flexible on location.Responsibilities: - Build business from the ground up in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment. This includes finding, pitching, negotiating with, and building relationships with key stakeholders in the rare disease biotech and pharmaceutical space.
- Have the ability to dynamically present Citizen offerings to customers with a strong understanding of the product and drug development, including at conferences and industry events.
- Be a player-coach - support recruitment and training of new members of the sales team.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create compelling sales materials and campaigns.
- Gather customer feedback to inform product development and improve service offerings.Must-Have Skills:
- 7+ year proven track record of successfully selling and building partnerships in a start-up environment (can include being part of a fast-paced group in a larger company).
- Experience selling into both biotech and pharma customers at the executive level.
- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and team members.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Willingness to travel as needed (as much as 50% over time) to meet with clients and attend industry events.Preferred Skills:
