Performs all required procedures in the department while operating specialized equipment. Participates in hiring of personnel, annual performance appraisals as needed and evaluation and monitoring staff competency. Acts as an expert clinician who demonstrates a high level of knowledge/expertise, and is a leader/resource to the healthcare team.Education and Work Experience:* Associates degree in Radiologic Technology: Required* Bachelor's Degree: Preferred* Five years' technical experience: Preferred* Two years' leadership experience: PreferredLicenses/Certifications:* Radiologic Tech (RT) and Mammography Technologist: Required in CA* American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Radiography (ARRT-R): Required* American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Mammography (ARRT-M): Required in OR, Preferred in CA and HI* Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) certification: Required* Fluoroscopy license: Preferred in CA* Venipuncture certification: Preferred in CAFacility Specific License/Certifications:* Fluoroscopy (FLUORO): Required* Mammographic Radiologic Technology (MRT): RequiredEssential Functions:* Completes patient education regarding the exam while promoting privacy and comfort for the patient. Follows infection control and safety guidelines.* Performs diagnostic or screening mammogram as ordered. Prepares for and assists the Radiologist in the completion of intricate mammography examinations, including breast biopsies. Produces high quality films for the radiologist to evaluate and completes appropriate documentation.* Performs quality control functions related to mammography. Assists in compilation and maintenance of statistical data.* Evaluates and critiques images prior to radiologist interpretation.* Serves as technical leader on daily tasks and cases. Models/mentors and trains staff on technical skills. Recommends and coordinates scheduling of work assignments, daily priorities and directing the work of staff. Provides input into hiring and promotion decisions for staff.* Performs other job-related duties as assigned.Organizational Requirements:Adventist Health is committed to the safety and wellbeing of our associates and patients.
