GU Energy Labs is a family-owned, market-leading global sports nutrition brand, and we are looking for an experienced and collaborative Demand Planner to join our Operations team!This is a hybrid role with weekly in-office work from our Berkeley HQ required.About This RoleThe Assistant Demand Planner is a cross-functional collaborator that drives GU Energy Labs' Sales & Operations Planning process. They play an integral role in planning the manufacturing of our Energy Gel products, designed to fuel athletes of all kinds. Reporting into the Sr. Demand Planning Manager on the Operations team, the Demand Planner is responsible for accurate forecasting & supply planning, managing inventories including both finished goods inventories, as well as raw materials and packaging. The Demand Planner will collaborate closely with our Customer Success and Quality teams to ensure consistent product quality and will assist in problem solving issues that occur. We are looking for someone who is detail oriented, analytical, an excellent communicator, and will support a culture of continuous improvement.The ideal candidate connects with GU's core values of Athleticism, Accountability, Innovation, Collaboration, Longevity, and Love.You are excited about this opportunity because you will:S&OP / IBP / Strategy - Collaborate with Sr. Demand Planning Manager on all operational planning, including long-term capacity planning, detailed production scheduling, and creating forecasts based on historical data and statistical analysis.
- Attend monthly S&OP and weekly forecasting meetings, collaborating with Sales and Marketing teams to provide insights and build consensus on regional and product category forecasts.
- Translate demand plan into supply plan to provide timely replenishment of all in-house and co-manufactured products.Inventory and Warehouse Management
- Analyze and reconcile inventory levels across all locations, including off-site vendors, to ensure accuracy and availability.
- Maintain oversight of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods, implementing measures to minimize waste and expiry, and collaborate with Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, and Procurement leadership to prioritize and expedite necessary actions.
- Foster mutually beneficial relationships with 3PL through regular communication.
- Guide shipment priority of finished goods to warehouse to prevent stockouts.
- Perform various data entry tasks, generate reports, and provide analysis on an ad hoc basis.Production Planning and Assemblies
- Collaborate with the Senior Demand Planning Manager to prepare weekly production schedules and guide product packaging transitions to maximize output and efficiency.
- Plan appropriate inventory levels of single gel packets for sampling and assemblies.
- Monitor mixed boxes, place assembly orders, and track assembly completion to ensure zero/minimal stockouts.
