DescriptionJob Title: Design Build Estimator Job Duties: The Design Build Estimator position prepares and completes estimates and bid/submittals for electrical construction projects often from the conceptual stage requiring extensive knowledge of electrical engineering principles. This position will be responsible for developing accurate and timely electrical construction estimates based on limited drawings and details on which Helix Electric will base competitive bids and proposals for the company's client-base of General Contractors, Owners, Developers and end-users; analyzing and interpreting detailed electrical drawings and specifications; Assisting with price value-engineered alternatives to plans and specifications; Performing budget pricing from schematic drawings and narrative; Drafting scope letters, proposals and vendor solicitations; Attending job walks; pre-bid meetings; collaborations and conferences with clients and design professionals; and working on change-orders and cost-to-complete estimates of on-going projects. Requires: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field plus six (6) months experience as Estimator, Engineer Intern, or similar electrical engineering role. Additional skills to include: Experience writing and processing Requests for Information (RFI) and Submittals. Experience writing up Field Request Purchase orders and change orders to get quotes and purchase materials from vendors. Experience or coursework in KICAD, C, Embedded Systems programming, AutoCAD, and ARM Assembly. Experience or coursework in the design and operation of electric power distribution systems, electrical circuits, and electrical energy conversion. Travel: Approximately 5% domestic travel for site visits, trainings, meetings, and visits to product manufacturers Job site: San Diego, CA Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $110,000.00 To apply, please use the "apply now" button.
