We are looking for a Data Scientist to partner with our Autonomy Long Tail and Autonomy Data Science and Operations Teams on this exciting journey.In this role, you will - Work with cross-functional teams of product managers, engineers, and data scientists to shape autonomy development priorities.
- Get to know the inner workings of Aurora's autonomous vehicles. Using this knowledge you will:
- Leverage AI to develop next generation data mining techniques.
- Develop production software to operationalize data processing and analysis pipelines.
- Analyze the nature of future operational domains to give leadership and developers insight into new challenges.
- Present insights to management, engineers, and fellow data scientists.
- Create dashboards and other self-service reporting mechanisms.
- Work across a diverse range of projects where you will need to apply statistical analysis, machine learning, and problem modeling skills.Required Qualifications
- BS, MS, or PhD in a relevant field.
- Strong knowledge and experience using relational databases (SQL, PostgreSQL, etc.).
- Proficiency in coding, programming concepts, and technical tools combined with the enthusiasm and passion to build. Strong Python skills are a must.
- Knowledge of common data analysis, inference, and statistical modeling tools, (e.g., numpy, sklearn, etc).
- Superb analytical and problem solving skills, and an ability to deeply understand the "why" and "how" of what we are working on.
- Experience with taking Data Science analysis end-to-end, working closely with Engineering to productionize pipelines, and surface insights in a scalable way.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to communicate technical data-driven analysis to both technical and non-technical audiences and the ability to develop insightful visualizations to communicate data with stakeholders.
