The Disney Store Planning organization develops strategic financial plans to drive growth and profitability while enhancing the Guest experience. It supports the DisneyStore.com channel and collaborates with Merchandising and Sourcing to deliver a relevant product range for Disney Stores, both online and brick-and-mortar. The Senior Manager, Merchandise Planning, will lead a team in driving quarterly and annual financial strategies across multiple categories, based on business insights, market trends, and guest preferences. The role involves evaluating assortment performance, reacting to in-season data, and adjusting plans for future seasons. The position reports to the Director of Planning & Allocation and manages a team of 2 direct and 3 secondary reports. This is a full-time position. What You Will Do: - Lead the creation of Category Plans, including forecasts on weekly, monthly, and annual bases.
- Accountable for revenue and cost of goods within your area.
- Manage pre-season and in-season planning, including forecasting and inventory open-to-buy.
- Analyze data to identify trends and provide actionable insights.
- Develop cause-of-change models monthly and annually.
- Translate business performance metrics into strategic recommendations.
- Identify pricing and liquidation opportunities to manage inventory liabilities.
- Lead cross-functional merchandise meetings, providing input on product performance, assortment, and inventory positioning.
- Mentor and develop team members to enhance skills and career growth.
Required Qualifications & Skills: - 6+ years in merchandise planning, financial analysis, or strategy development.
- Leadership experience with a proven track record of guiding teams and achieving results.
- Strong financial forecasting, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to influence decision-making and build relationships across the organization.
- Storytelling skills with financial data, capable of presenting to various leadership levels.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with retail planning software, MS Office, Excel, and Business Intelligence tools.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills: - Experience with Oracle MFP or similar retail planning software.
- Knowledge of Business Intelligence tools like MicroStrategy and Tableau.
- Self-motivated with curiosity and adaptability to ambiguity.
- Ability to operate within a matrix organization and develop creative solutions.
