Our customers use our tools to push the boundaries of technology and physics to deliver better products in the increasingly complex world of chip, board, and system design.General Summary of the Job:The primary purpose is working closely with customers, and sales team to manage the technical engagement that support sales campaigns.Having wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways. Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Internal and external contacts often pertain to company plans and objectives.Has advanced-level product knowledge for a wide-range of products or flows. Uses advanced technical and business skills to drive product into customer projects and to recognize and uncover new business opportunities. Typically interacts with senior-level personnel at customer sites and determines methods and procedures to drive business into the assigned account. May provide guidance to other personnel.Essential Functions: - To develop close relationships with customers to be able to assess their technical requirements and the options/ability for Mentor's flows/solutions in order to develop and implement technical sales plans. This may be through proactive telephone contact, delivery of presentations and demonstrations, articulating product value statements, and engagement in technical benchmarks and evaluations.
- To drive products into customer projects to ensure adoption by creating methodology and flows; this may include infrastructure and integration into a customer's environment and the identification of pilot projects for tool use and the debugging and bring-up of new methodologies and flows.
- To uncover or qualify new opportunities, the technical viability of a lead and communicate the opportunity clearly to the sales team. Using this information to establish success criteria for technical engagements that effectively position Mentor Graphics areas of strength.
- To provide technical leadership on all aspects of a sales campaign with the aim of contributing to account/area technical business plans.
- To share, in a proactive manner, account, evaluation, competitor, technology and other useful information with peers, sales teams, management and product divisions to help us to compete more effectively.Skills and Abilities Required:
- Ability to prioritize and document all activities based on business ROI
- Documented ability to uncover new business opportunities and stimulates the market for growth
- Advanced understanding of technology/science and able to explain and optimize results
- Can write advanced complex scripts, rule decks, awareness of competitive tool requirements, net lists/interfaces and knowledgeable of compute farms
- Can present with confidence to large audiencesEducation and Experience Requirement:
- BSEE or BSCS is required; MSEE preferred
- 8-12 years of experience as an AE or related fieldWorking Conditions/Physical Requirements:
