Highly prefer candidates in LA or San Francisco Bay AreaContract role to support a VR/mixed reality hardware product effort.This role requires someone who has an understanding of spatial design principles, strong visual skills, and a thoughtful approach to the user experience in all facets of their work. It also requires strong experience with hardware and planned shipping product. The current team is made up of multi-disciplinary teams of UX Designers, Researchers, Writers, Program Managers, and Engineers who all care deeply about the people who use their products. This team's mission is to give people superhuman abilities by making information instantly and intuitively accessible. They are focused on making immersive computing accessible to billions of people through mobile immersive XR devices.The goal of this engagement is to support the engineering effort with testing and solutioning. - Priority: Weekly end-to-end device UX "expert test" to determine if what engineering has built matches the design intent.
- Find edge cases that have not yet been designed for and propose solutions. Create design solutions to engineering blockers if they arise.
- Meet weekly with the design and engineering team leads for collaboration and to obtain feedback.
- Propose designs for future LED layouts and animating patterns.Responsibilities
- Work with xfn partners to drive and own designs for XR Sys UI focused features.
- Drive design spec development and create production ready assets.
- Communicate the user experience to partners at various stages of the design process by making compelling designs and concepts and expressing them in stories, sketches, wireframes, flow diagrams, models, & 2D prototypes.
- Clearly rationalize and justify design work, advocate for users' needs.
- Work with the wider XR UX team to craft seamless and consistent experiences across the platform.Skills
