Gnostech is seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Engineer III / Senior Information Assurance Analyst to support mission-critical defense systems within a highly secure, compliance-driven environment, local to the San Diego, CA area. This role supports efforts related to the National Cyber Range Complex (NCRC) and Total Ship Computing Environment (TSCE) programs and requires in-depth knowledge of shipboard system installations, cybersecurity protocols, and operational requirements. - Apply comprehensive knowledge of DoD cybersecurity policies, military system specifications, and computer security best practices to secure sensitive defense systems.
- Support the NCRC TSCE Program by ensuring cybersecurity and shipboard install requirements are met, and protocols are followed.
- Lead the implementation of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) lifecycle, including control selection, security control assessments, and continuous monitoring activities.
- Configure and manage IA-enabled security appliances, including:o Firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Cisco ASA)o IDS/IPS systemso Switches/Routerso Cross Domain Solutions (CDS)o Endpoint Security Solutions (ESS)o Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS)
- Perform STIG implementation to harden system configurations and ensure compliance with DoD mandates.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments using the Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) tool.
- Remediate findings by deploying vendor patches and mitigation strategies across Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support accreditation efforts, prepare documentation, and ensure cybersecurity objectives align with operational goals.Minimum Security Clearance
- Current active Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret.Required Qualifications and Skills
- Active DoD Secret Clearance
- Hands-on experience supporting DoD environments and implementing RMF, STIGs, and vulnerability remediation solutions.
- Proficient in managing and configuring cybersecurity appliances and network devices.
- Strong working knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Familiarity with shipboard systems, TSCE, and NCRC environments is highly desirable.
- Experience with cybersecurity tools such as ACAS, eMASS, ESS, and CDS platforms.Education and Training Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Master's degree drops minimum years of full-time professional experience to 7.
- Relevant cybersecurity certifications IAT III's such as CISSP, CASP+, CISA, or CCNP Security.Minimum Years of Experience
