The College of Engineering and the Department of Aviation Science at California Baptist University invite applications for a full-time, tenure-track, department chair in Aviation Science.Candidates must embrace the mission of California Baptist University and evidence a clear understanding of, and commitment to, excellence in teaching through the integration of the Christian faith and learning. This is a twelve-month position and will remain open until filled. Starting date: July 1, 2025. An application for a position may be submitted electronically through the university's web site at jobs.calbaptist.edu/.QualificationsRequired Qualifications: Master's degree in Aviation, Public Administration, Business, Education, or related field. At least 5 years of related aviation industry experience. The ability to manage multiple complex daily tasks, from working with students to working with the FAA, the VA, to managing aircraft acquisitions. Experienced pilot in a commercial, military, or private setting.Preferred Qualifications: Airline Transport Pilot and/or Certificated Flight Instructor. Minimum of 1,000 flight hours logged. Doctoral degree with Aviation, Public Administration, Business, Education, or related field. Five years in aviation training, aviation education and/or an aviation-related facility management position. Five years of full-time work experience in higher education or aviation-related facility. Ability to work well with students, staff, and others who walk through the door. Budget/forecasting/auditing experience. Experience with accreditation/assessment. Demonstration of effective customer service.
