Division: Air & Sea USJob Posting Title: Manager, OceanTime Type: Full Time Summary An Ocean Manager is responsible for overseeing the importation and exportation of goods by ocean, ensuring efficient and effective coordination and delivery of cargo. The Ocean Manager is responsible for maintaining strong relationships with customers and vendors/service providers. This role requires excellent communication and leadership skills, as well as a deep understanding of logistics and supply chain management. Duties and Responsibilities - Manage and oversee the importation of goods by ocean, including carrier selection, booking, and movement of goods through various transportation channels.
- Manage and oversee the ocean export process, including preparation of shipping documents, customs clearance, and booking with shipping lines.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, shipping lines, customs brokers, and other service providers to ensure efficient movement and timely delivery of cargo.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and laws, including customs regulations and trade laws.
- Develop and maintain relationships with customers, vendors, and other third-party service providers to ensure the highest level of service and customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with other internal departments, such as logistics, finance, and operations, to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators, such as cargo delivery times, costs, and quality.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve efficiency and quality of service delivery.
- Identify and implement process improvements to reduce costs, improve service quality, and enhance customer satisfaction.
Educational background / Work experience - A bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or a related field is required.
- Leadership/supervisory experience is required.
- Prior experience in ocean is highly desirable.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of logistics and supply chain management principles.
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
Supervisory Responsibilities (if any) - This role typically involves supervising a team of freight forwarders and other support staff.
Preferred Qualifications - Experience with leading ocean cargo logistics software and systems.
- Familiarity with ocean freight regulations, customs requirements, and import/export controls.
- Knowledge of shipping routes and schedules.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
