Project ManagerPosition Summary:Catalent Pharma in San Diego, CA is hiring a--Project Manager--who is responsible for--activities associated with drug product development and cGMP Manufacturing activities, in addition to developing and managing business relationships for major pharmaceutical clients. The primary function of the Project Manager is to initiate, plan, monitor the execution, and ensure the timely completion of client projects so that patient needs are met and internal/external customers are satisfied. Provide notification of milestone completions for billing to finance.--
- Work directly with Client-side Project Managers to develop, write and process work orders as part of the RFP (Request For Proposal) process. Liaise between clients, science and manufacturing teams to drive project and process solutions.
- Prepare and present monthly/quarterly (or as required) project updates to client management via telephone and at client sites. Manage all client communications, visits, and audits, with support of corresponding--internal departments (Manufacturing, Pharmaceutics, QA/QC).
- Interface directly with Manufacturing to coordinate client manufacturing schedule and forecasting. Monitor manufacturing activities in process.
- Coordinate and communicate with Contracts/Finance for project related costs and billing updates. Seek additional business opportunities with House Accounts.
- Will--manage--projects that may reside within multiple business lines or sites as assigned and act as single/primary point of contact for the client and facilitate responses--to Customer questions and observations.--
- Build strong relationships with clients, instilling trust and confidence.--During the lifecycle of projects, push to obtain resupply forecasts and new business opportunities--from clients.----
- Initiate proposal requests for project scope changes and new business opportunities (as needed) using Project Management related software. Provide leadership to employees including training.
- Other duties as assigned.The Candidate (requirements)
- Bachelor of Science degree required, preferably from an accredited university in Chemistry or related scientific discipline. 3+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience required, with exposure to project management, product development and cGMP manufacturing, and business development. Must have at least 1+ year of client facing/project management experience.--Experience with a CMO or CRO environment highly desired.
- PMP certification or related Project Management professional--training is a plus.
- Ability to understand the customer requirements and manufacturing scenarios, processes, and equipment to develop project plan scope, and deliverables and--translate to the team--accordingly for execution.--
- Ability to build strong relationships with client, instilling trust and confidence. Versatile team player with the ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure;--Able to achieve--high quality deliverables within set targets.--
- Strong interpersonal skills including actively listening, conflict resolution, ability to effectively influence--diverse stakeholders for positive outcome. Outstanding technical writing and communication skills. Highly organized, with attention to detail.
- Technical knowledge/familiarity of project management concepts and tools to plan, track, and communicate timelines, risks, and milestones and drive for decisions and solutions to issues during the process.
- Physical Requirements: On an average 8-hour day this position requires the ability to walk, sit and stand, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms at or above shoulder height and below waist height, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear, smell and lift up to 40 pounds. Specific vision requirements including reading of written documents, visual inspection of materials and use of computer monitor screen frequently.---Pay:
- The anticipated salary range for this role in San Diego, CA is $70,000 to $96,000 annually.
