Position description The Department of Internal Medicine, Division of General Internal Medicine (GIM) at the University of California, Davis School of Medicine is recruiting for a full-time faculty member in the Health Sciences Clinical (HSCP) series at the Assistant rank in General Internal Medicine. Faculty in the HSCP series are expected to engage in teaching, demonstrate professional competence and activity, scholarly or creative work, and University and public service. The Department of Internal Medicine, Division of General Internal Medicine is a national leader in primary care research, education, and clinical care. Specific core duties, functions and responsibilities include: - Providing direct outpatient clinical care in all aspects of internal medicine, with a focus on caring for individuals from medically underserved backgrounds. The position will include providing care to a highly diverse population of patients at while supervising our residents.
- Providing inpatient care for adult hospital patients.
- Teaching and supervision of residents and medical students in the inpatient and outpatient setting, with an emphasis on care of the medically underserved.
- Teaching and supervision of nurse practitioner fellow in the outpatient setting, with an emphasis on care of the medically underserved.
- Contribute to departmental, University and public service.
- Interest or experience in sports/MSK medicine or pre/peri-operative medicine or palliative care medicine or tribal health is preferred. As needed, interested faculty will be supported to pursue or improve skills in these areas with a plan to lead these focus areas with GIM.
