Position Summary Under the general direction of the Director of Planning & Construction Services, the incumbent is responsible for managing assigned major and/or minor construction projects, including all aspects of project management during development, planning, design, construction, and final close-out. FLSA: Exempt (Not eligible for overtime compensation) Anticipated Hiring Range: $7,917.00 per month - $9,167.00 per month commensurate with candidate's education, experience, skills, and training CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,750.00 - $11,146.00 per month Best-in-class Benefits: CSU Total Compensation: Salary Grade/Range: 1 Recruitment Type: Regular (At-will) Time Base: Full-Time Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00a.m. - 5:00p.m. May be eligible for a partial telework schedule, upon management approval, following a training period. Department Information Our responsibilities include master planning, capital planning, design & capital project management for the University. The Director of PDCS also functions as the Deputy Building Official assigned to the campus by the Chancellor's office in enforcing CSU permitting procedures, reviews and approvals. Please visit our website for additional information: Required Qualifications A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the area of project management Experience with monitoring project budgets and timelines Experience administering and reviewing contracts and ensuring compliance with applicable policies and procedures Strong verbal and written communication skills Proven track record in managing and coordinating contracts Ability to manage and direct contractors/sub-contractors Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively Valid driver's license and maintenance of good driving record Commitment to maintaining a welcoming and inclusive work environment with diverse colleagues and constituents including faculty, students, staff, and members of the community. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Ability to pass background check Preferred Qualifications Master's degree from an accredited university Professional Licensed Architect, Mechanical or Electrical Engineer Knowledge of California construction codes and laws, including seismic codes Experience managing major and/or minor construction projects Experience in successfully managing multiple, concurrent projects Knowledge of California Public Works project management Experience managing projects for California State University, State of California, University of California, California Community Colleges, or local governments or special districts in California Required Licenses/Certifications Valid California driver's license and maintenance of a good driving record.
