The Human Resources Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources Department, such as benefits administration, compensation, employment/labor relations and HRIS. This position will interpret hospital policies and procedures to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, competitive practice, collective bargaining agreements and operational objectives. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: - Ensures effective operations of Human Resources department.
- Works with all levels of the organization ensuring federal, state and local labor law compliance.
- Ensures compliance with record keeping requirements, including both physical and electronic files.
- Ensures accurate and timely administration of employee benefit programs.
- Oversees Hospital's leave of absence policies ensuring compliance with federal, state, local regulations as well as compliance with collective bargaining agreements.
- Assists in the development of tools to assist employees in benefits selection.
- Implements policies and procedures.
- Assists in the development of communication materials for new employee orientation. Coordinates new employee orientation program.
- Maintains records and monitors employee turnover. May conduct study on reasons for turnover and present suggestions to reduce turnover or improve selection procedures.
- Ensures accurate and timely processing of Personal Action documents submitted by department leaders or employees. Directs the accurate and timely processing of union negotiated increases.
- Review Employee Performance Evaluation compliance. Works with department leadership to ensure timeliness of evaluations. Prepares reports for department and executive leadership.
- Provides appropriate employee relations guidance which addresses consistent application of human resources policies, including progressive discipline, termination issues and grievances.
- Identifies statistical trends on termination reasons and employee relations issues THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING:
License / Certification - PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or equivalent Experience
- Five (5) years progressive Human Resources experience in a hospital / healthcare environment
- Previous experience working with collective bargaining agreements in unionized facility Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
