Job Overview: As a UI/UX Design Engineer, you will be at the forefront of designing intuitive, engaging, and innovative user interfaces for our web applications. Your role will be pivotal in bridging the gap between graphical design and technical implementation, playing an active role on both sides and defining how the application looks and works. This is an estimated 6-month project hire placement, with no guarantee of permanent placement. Responsibilities and Duties: UI/UX Design: -
Develop UI mockups and prototypes that clearly illustrate functionality and aesthetics. -
Design graphic user interface elements, like menus, tabs, widgets, etc. -
Create original graphic designs (e.g., images, sketches, and tables). -
Help develop a unified UI/UX language that can be shared across applications portfolio. User Experience Research: -
Identify and troubleshoot UX problems (e.g., responsiveness). -
Gather user stories to determine user needs; be able to differentiate between "what the user wants" and the functionality they're truly after. -
Conduct layout adjustments based on user feedback. -
Incorporate customer feedback, usage metrics, and usability findings into the design to enhance user experience. Technical Development: -
Build reusable code and libraries for future use. -
Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs. -
Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability. Collaboration: -
Collaborate with other team members, such as end users, software engineers, and back-end developers. -
Work with stakeholders to understand detailed requirements and design complete user experiences. Quality Assurance: -
Conduct ongoing user interface design testing to ensure applications are user-friendly. -
Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices, and standards. Qualifications: -
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Design, or a related field. -
2+ years of proven UI/UX design experience with a strong portfolio. -
Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and understanding of CSS preprocessors like Sass or LESS. -
Experience with JavaScript frameworks like React, Vue, or Angular. -
Familiarity with design tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe XD, Axure RP, Figma, Framer, Sketch, UXPin -
