Job Description: The Welder Class A is responsible for welding material according to specifications of job orders. This position is deemed 'safety sensitive' due to the fact that a person improperly performing the essential or marginal functions of the job would constitute a threat to the health or safety of the employee, the employee's co-workers, and/or the public at large.
Pay: $24 - $26
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Receive and understand welding symbols and select proper welding material needed to finish material for fitting, painting and shipping.
• Locate pieces approved by Quality Control for welding; gather equipment necessary to complete the piece.
• Clean welding pieces for next phase of processing.
• Responsible for adhering to company safety and QA/QC programs and OSHA regulations.
• The ability to work overtime and regular, punctual attendance is required.
• Perform non-essential functions as needed. Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum of 4 years welding experience is required. -
  • Must be able to read and comprehend welding instructions and symbols, and structural drawings. -
  • Must have ability to pass a Class A welding test which may include 1G FCAW, 3G FCAW, 4G FCAW, 1G SMAW, 3G SMAW, 4G SMAW, 1G SAW, and a written welding test. -
  • Must be able to read a tape measure. Physical Demands Ability to lift at least 60 pounds occasionally. -Must be able to climb stairs, ladders, and scaffolding up to 150 feet. -Must be able to work at heights up to 300 feet. -Must have ability to use vibratory tools intermittently throughout the workday. - Considerable amounts of overtime and weekend work may be required. -Excessive amounts of bending and stooping to weld in difficult positions. -Must be able to tolerate temperature fluctuations, and a dusty/noisy work environment. -All the physical demands listed are essential functions.
