Purpose and Scope: The Ideal candidate will set up, operate, adjust automatic cutting equipment as well as load and unload raw material. Able to use a tape measure and calipers to perform precise measurements as required. Additionally, they will keep the facility clean by removing debris and trash to ensure safety. Roles and Responsibilities: - Operate a metal cutting saw and perform necessary adjustments as needed.
- Make accurate measurements according to router specifications (bar or slug size).
- Safely move material from cart to saw and off saw when done.
- Understanding of inventory control and cycle counts.
- Operate forklifts and other lifting equipment.
- Keep inventory accurately, draw from inventory and replace unused back to correct inventory.
- Keep accurate inventory records on paper, excel program and in the computer system.
- Write legibly, both on material and documents.
- Turn controls to set prescribed cutting speeds, feed rate and downward pressure.
- Loosen jaws and position them to parts size to secure cutting size and material
- Preform daily maintenance and cleaning.
- Knowledge of Saw functions: power button and all switches.
- Read and interpret drawings.
Minimum Qualifications: - High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be capable of using forklifts, battery lifts, and have the physical ability to stand for long periods of time, lift and move items weighing up to 80 pounds.
- Follow written instructions.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Self-starter that, upon completion of training, shows the ability to carry out assignments with minimal direction and supervision.
- Show initiative in supporting safety plant wide.
- Must have basic math skills & ability to read pick lists.
- Accuracy of data entry, accounts and record keeping is essential.
- General knowledge of warehouse/stockroom procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required to work with production employees and managers.
- Must be flexible with overtime and weekends, as necessary.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Preferred Qualifications: - 3 years' experience in a manufacturing shop environment
- Experience with CSI and Factory-Trak
- Experience operating HYO-MECH / Cosen saws
- Previous CNC, Saws or machine operation
- Previous metal manufacturing experience
- Forklift experience and/or certification.
