Job Description Job Description Position : Propane Technician Duration: PERM (paid hourly) Pay Rate: $42–$48/hr Location: Bethel, CT Schedule: 7:30 AM–4:30 PM with overtime (typically between 5-10hrs / week) Travel: about 90% of job - driving/performing installations Must-Haves: 3–5 years of experience as a Propane Technician (systems knowledge, tag installations, interior/exterior piping, fireplaces, stove and dryer conversions) Understanding of basic architecture/structure of a house Residential and commercial experience Strong diagnostic abilities G2 Journeyman License (CT state license) Comfortable driving a company vehicle and working 5–10 hours of overtime per week May occasionally need to drive a bobtail (rare) Excellent interpersonal skills, strong communication, and very sharp attention to detail Plus (but heavily preferred): CDL Class B License — required for driving the company vehicle; ideally already obtained but can be acquired Day-to-Day: Report to Bethel office daily, pick up company vehicle, and return it by end of day Perform residential and commercial house calls for installations, maintenance, and repairs Install propane tanks, gas lines, and propane‐powered appliances Ensure all installations meet safety codes and regulatory requirements Conduct routine inspections, leak tests, and pressure checks Perform preventive maintenance and replace worn or damaged parts Diagnose and repair issues with propane systems and appliances Respond to urgent or emergency service calls for leaks or equipment failures Educate customers on safe propane usage and system operations Provide estimates, explain services performed, and answer customer questions Complete documentation and office tasks when not in the field Job Description Insight Global is seeking a Propane Technician to join the service team at a propane client in Bethel, CT . This technician will start each day at the Bethel office, pick up a company vehicle for scheduled house calls, and return the vehicle at the end of the shift. Responsibilities include installing propane tanks, gas lines, and appliances; performing routine inspections, leak tests, and preventive maintenance; diagnosing and repairing propane system issues; and responding to occasional emergency calls. When not in the field, the technician will complete documentation and assist with office-based tasks. The ideal candidate delivers excellent customer service by educating clients on safe propane usage, explaining work performed, and answering service-related questions. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
