CT Tech Location: Wrangell, AK Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $3,503 per week Shift Information: 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 3/16/2026 About the Position Job Title: CT Technologist Profession: Diagnostic Imaging Specialty: Radiologic Technologist Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day or night shift coverage may be required, along with on-call duties. Hours per Shift: 36 guaranteed hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Current ARRT in Radiography or current ARDMS in one category (Abd or OB/GYN) Certifications: BLS certification required within 45 days of hire Must-Have: CT experience and certification Description: The Radiologic Technologist/CT Tech must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients serviced in their assigned unit. The individual must understand the principles of growth and development over the lifespan. The technologist must possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the information needed to identify each patient’s needs. The role involves providing care as described in the department's policies and procedures. Essential functions include providing radiographic CT examinations of all body parts for diagnostic interpretation. Professional judgment must be exercised in performing procedures while applying principles of radiation protection. The technologist is responsible for maintaining patient records and files and for departmental quality assurance. They will also transfer patients to and from radiology and perform ancillary duties as requested by the supervisor. There may be a requirement to rotate shifts and assume departmental responsibility in the absence of a supervisor. The technologist should be able to work well in stressful situations and must be willing to respond to on-call duties within 20 minutes. Additionally, they should be open to learning other imaging modalities as needed. Competency in ancillary modalities should be maintained. Responsibilities also include caring for equipment in the imaging area, record maintenance, and assisting with invasive procedures. The technologist should be competent in sterile technique and follow standard precautions. They must strive towards the goal of venipuncture and consult with referring physicians. It is important to alter routine protocols to provide quality care to patients across various age groups, including pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric patients. The role involves setting up and running an automatic injector and being familiar with the contraindications of contrast media. Daily and weekly quality control tasks are also part of the job. As a lead technologist, one must work with imaging management to support the achievement of organizational goals. The lead will assign daily staffing schedules, respond promptly to staff concerns, and work to identify and resolve operational problems. They are expected to assist in hiring staff and coordinate new staff orientation. Attending departmental meetings, in-services, and disaster drills is a requirement. The technologist should be able to perform all diagnostic exams related to their assigned modality. Knowledge of procedures and continuing education is essential for maintaining the required clinical competencies.
