Job Summary: The Project Manager will organize, manage, and plan complex hydrographic survey and geotechnical projects. Supervisory Responsibilities Collaborate with a team of line managers, surveyors, and technicians to ensure projects are completed on time and to specifications. Delegate work and assignments to team members based on expertise, work experience, and time constraints. Technical Deliver consistent leadership in all areas of projects including the provision of support to project personnel as required. Ensure service delivery, in accordance with client and company expectation, within budgetary constraints, in a timely, accurate, safe and cost effective manner. Identify, manage and mitigate all relevant project risk (including commercial risk) as far as is reasonably practicable. Provide support to existing and future clients in a timely and efficient manner. Ensure maintenance of effective client interfaces and negotiate with Clients regarding project specifications. Quality assure work performed by the project team ensuring compliance with the required quality standards and alignment to all company policies and procedures. Engage and communicate with senior management to ensure they understand current and possible future project activities and requirements. Ensure line managers are aware of key issues and solutions. Resource works appropriately and develop capability and performance within project teams. Manage contractual issues arising with client and sub-contractors. Financial Deliver target revenue and EBITDA from new project activities. Responsible for project budget, costs, cash flow and margin Optimize the utilization of operational resources to ensure revenues and profitability are maximized. Provide accurate input for monthly forecasting and financial reporting. Liaise directly with Clients and company leadership to ensure all technical queries on sales invoices are resolved efficiently and credit terms are observed. Ensure effective utilization of resources. Assist in developing and delivering reliable forecasts, budgets and business plans. Understand profit and loss calculations and basic business finance e.g. gross margin percentages and calculations, depreciation, capital and revenue expenditure, cash-flow, overheads etc. Business Development and Acquisition Position the company, by engaging in structured business development activities, as a recognized project contractor Assist in the preparation of quotations and tenders and submissions as required in liaison with company leadership. Develop and maintain an extensive network of industry contacts. Promote the business and maintain a high profile. Increase the company's involvement with existing clients ensuring penetration at appropriate levels. Provide expertise on technical and commercial issues to ensure maximum possible conversion ratio from quotes to orders. Required Skills/Abilities Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn about the project or product being developed. Minimum Associates Degree or Bachelor's Degree in related discipline, Engineering Degree and APM Qualification would be an advantage. Demonstrable experience in project management Computer literate in Microsoft Office 365 and Office software. Knowledge and experience of similar service lines is desirable. Demonstrable knowledge of budgets, schedules, quality, and deadlines. Excellent knowledge of project management, quality management systems, health and safety, safe systems of work and legal regulations. Hydrographic Survey industry experience commensurate with the job requirements, including managing projects and supervising people. Experience in the production of programs of work and project management/execution plans. Experience in running projects across multiple sites and supporting remote projects. Demonstrate leadership, maturity, judgement, drive, and discretion when dealing with people. Provide mentoring and coaching of individuals/team members. Have excellent organizational skills and problem-solving ability together with a keen attention to detail. The ability to communicate clearly, concisely and with confidence with diverse audiences Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to remain flexible and efficient in a fast-paced environment which may require working odd hours. Ability to make intelligent and quick decisions, working well under pressure, and when faced with unexpected occurrences or delays. Ability to effectively multitask while analyzing and solving problems. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong supervisory and leadership skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
