We want your knowledge and expertise!Job Summary and QualificationsAs a Charge Nurse in the ICU you are a highly qualified, expert clinician who possesses advanced care skills and has demonstrated strong critical thinking skills in the face of change, intervention, and crisis. You will be responsible for the day-to-day activities in the unit. You will respond to the immediate or emergent needs of staffing to augment quality patient care. Our team is seeking passionate individuals who are ready to take their career to the next level! In this role: - You will facilitate interventions to meet patients' physical, psychological, spiritual, social, cultural and educational needs; coordinates functions with physicians and other departments of the hospital in a spirit that fosters positive working relationships
- You will possess excellent interpersonal, time management and communication skills
- You will serve as role model, mentor, educator, and evaluator in the Critical Care area for the staff is essential.
- You will triage, assess and treat patients of all ages
- You will manage multiple cases simultaneously providing general nursing care and prioritizing needs continually
- You will demonstrate the ability to manage and coordinate patient care, maintaining departmental flow and directing the staff assignments as needed.
- You will work with the Manager and Director on department staffing; hiring, evaluating, guiding, disciplining, and scheduling of staff.
- You will act in a composed and professional manner, especially under pressure
- You will provide follow up care instructions to patients and make necessary referrals
- You will maintain accurate and up-to-date patient charts
- You will assist in coordinating functions with physicians and other departments of the hospital, with a focus on patient safety
