Koch Foods, a leader in the poultry processing industry, is seeking a dedicated Yard Driver to join our team. This role is critical in managing the flow of our shipping yards, ensuring that products are transported smoothly and efficiently between docks and storage areas. The Yard Driver will operate heavy vehicles and must adhere to all safety regulations and standards. This position requires precision and a keen attention to detail to maintain the integrity and schedule of shipments. Our Yard Drivers are essential to the overall success of our operations, facilitating the timely delivery of fresh and frozen poultry products to our customers. Operate yard trucks to maneuver trailers from dock to dock and to parking spots within the facility grounds. Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance as needed. Plan routes and meet delivery schedules, complying with company SOPs and safety rules. Coordinate with warehouse staff and other internal teams to facilitate efficient dock and yard operations. Use radio or other communication tools to effectively communicate with team members. Report defects, accidents, or violations and ensure the security of the vehicle and cargo. Maintain logs of trailer movements in compliance with company policies and DOT regulations. Proficiency in operating heavy vehicles, specifically yard tractors and trailers. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing schedules. Knowledge of transportation safety standards and maintenance procedures. Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record. DOT physical exam certification. More...
