Military Veterans are Encouraged to Apply. -R10066018 Welder Repair Technician (Open) Location: Birmingham, AL (Tarr) - Retail shop How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW? Troubleshoots and repairs various electro-mechanical equipment and performs trial runs of equipment to test quality and performance. Develops detailed service reports to document service, issues and troubleshooting actions and logs and tracks maintenance hours and activities. Safety and Regulatory Compliance - Exemplifies, promotes and develops safe work behaviors.
- Ensures all applicable regulatory (OSHA, FDA, DOT, EPA) requirements are met and applicable training and recordkeeping is performed to meet departmental and location deadlines.
- Maintains compliance with all Safety Management Systems requirements and any and all associated paperwork.
- Manages paperwork to DOT, FDA, OSHA, and Airgas standards.
- Complies with all government and company standards relating to the safe handling of hazardous materials/cylinder gases.
Essential Functions: - Pulls assigned equipment for repair from inventory using appropriate equipment.
- Performs inspection of machine and observes operation to detect cause of malfunction.
- Disassembles machine, using hand tools.
- Determines replacement parts from lists and catalogs, or repairs parts, such as motor drive controls, motors, belts, transformers, bushings, bearings, gears, etc.
- May solder loose connections.
- May rewires electrical circuits.
- Reassembles machine, using hand tools, welding and brazing equipment and measuring instruments.
- Set up and start the repaired machine to verify operation.
- Responds to customer calls in a professional and efficient manner.
- Maintains a neat, clean and orderly repair shop appearance.
- Other duties as assigned.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: - Ability to be certified and safely operate a forklift, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment as required.
- Assist with inventory, housekeeping and demonstrations as required.

________________________ Are you a MATCH? Required Education: - HS Diploma or equivalent (GED); technical certification preferred.
Required Length & Type of Experience: - 2 years of experience in electrical repair/testing experience preferred.
- 2 years of industry experience and training preferred.
- Strong background in the welding machine repair industry preferred.
