We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of licensed Occupational Therapists to implement treatment plans, provide therapeutic activities, and assist patients in developing or regaining the skills necessary for daily living and functional independence.Responsibilities: Collaborate with Occupational Therapists to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients based on their specific needs and goals. Assist patients in performing therapeutic exercises, activities, and interventions to improve mobility, strength, coordination, and fine motor skills. Provide guidance and support to patients in activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding, to promote independence and enhance quality of life. Utilize adaptive equipment and assistive devices as needed to facilitate patients' engagement in meaningful occupations and activities. Monitor and document patients progress during therapy sessions, including objective measurements and subjective observations, and communicate findings to the supervising Occupational Therapist. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as nurses, physicians, speech therapists, and physical therapists, to coordinate patient care and ensure comprehensive treatment planning. Educate patients and their families on therapeutic techniques, adaptive strategies, and home exercise programs to support continuity of care and promote carryover of skills. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of patient care activities, progress notes, and billing information in compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.Qualifications: Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) from an accredited program. Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). Valid licensure as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in the state of Alabama. CPR certification preferred. Prior experience in a healthcare or rehabilitation setting preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and their families. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and collaborate with other healthcare professionals. Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills for maintaining accurate patient records.Benefits: |
