Find your future with us.Boeing's Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is looking for a Chief Electrical Design & Analysis Engineer to join the Avionics Flight Systems Team in Huntsville, AL, working on the prestigious Space Launch System Program (SLS). In this role, you'll be at the forefront of cutting-edge technology, focusing on flight controls, communications, and data acquisition for space launch vehicles.Our Flight Systems team is responsible for the design, integration, and supplier management of avionics components crucial to the Artemis/SLS Program Core Stage and the Exploration Upper Stage. As part of Boeing's multi-year contract with NASA, you'll contribute to the development and delivery of heavy lift flight hardware for deep space missions, playing a pivotal role in NASA's exploration of the cosmos. Your career is about to take off-apply now!Position Responsibilities - Designs electronic hardware focused on space launch vehicle applications
- Develops avionics assembly designs primarily focused on flight controls, communication, and data acquisition systems.
- Oversees the production and testing of flight controls, communication, and data acquisition systems.
- Develop the design, analysis and documentation for flight electronics
- Develops, documents and maintains electronic and electrical system requirements according to customer desires and contract requirements
- Leads and coordinates work to analyze and translate requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs and interface specifications.
- Develops of statements-of-work and technical performance specifications
- Leads Root Cause/Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations and resolutions
- Leads the planning and execution various methods of testing and analysis to support design and production and to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements
- Works with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of products
- Leads formal trade studies and literature research to support future product designs
- Develops solutions to technical problems
- Serves as a consultant to top management in long-range company planning for new or projected areas of technological research and advancement
- Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment.
- Represents the organization as the prime technical contact on contracts and projects.
- Interacts with senior external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations.

- Ability to obtain program access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only
- Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or directly related science or technology field degree
- 15 or more years of experience in Flight Avionics Design
- 10 or more years of experience leading a multi-skilled (electrical, mechanical, project, systems, etc.) engineering design teamPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
