POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for all manufacturing accounting functions.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Compiles and sorts financial information to establish and maintain the standard cost and perpetual inventory systemsResponsible for setting standards for raw material cost, labor routings and roll-ups and providing recommendations for cost efficiencyPerforms a variety of accounting tasks, applying accepted procedures to the preparation and maintenance of accounting recordsIs conscious about maintaining records in organized and detailed fashionWorks on special projects regarding cost monitoring and estimatingPrepares annual budget for manufacturing facility, reviews monthly Actual vs. Budget spending reports and discusses variances with plant manager.Supports plant management.Monitors month-end Cycle Counts for inventoryMaintains Year-End files for Inventory, accompanies Auditor during Perpetual and Non-Perpetual Audits.Monitors non-perpetual inventory for changes to month end quantities, determinations on changing to perpetual status.Monitor inventory to determine if/when Obsolete status changes or IDRs (Inventory Disposal Requests) are needed.Compiles and maintains daily production records at both the plant and corporate levelKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:Technical skills in accounting and accepted accounting principles.The position also requires good interpersonal skills and verbal communications to effectively communicate with co-workers, Auditors, vendors, and customers.JDEdwards and MS Excel knowledgeProduct knowledge a plus for completing IDRs and SPRs (special product request)EDUCATION: A two year accounting degree with commensurate accounting experience or a four year accounting degreeEXPERIENCE: A minimum of 3 years of previous manufacturing experience in cost accounting is preferred.COMPUTER SKILLS: The position requires exceptional computer and calculator skills. JDEdwards and AS400 systems is preferred. Must be proficient in MS Excel.
