The RN is responsible for leading and supporting the goals for shift objectives to enhance team efficiency and customer satisfaction.*Essential Duties and Responsibilities*1. Initiates and leads team conferences in development of individualized nursing care plans2. Performs efficiently in emergency patient care situations following established protocols, remaining calm, informing appropriate persons, and documenting events3. Demonstrates knowledge of legal issues, including patient confidentiality and risk management in all aspects of patient care and unit functioning4. Documents patient care and unit activities in a timely, accurate, and concise manner5. Accurately and promptly implements physicians' orders6. Obtain data for electronic Admission Data Record7. Administers medications, starts IVs and performs treatments for assigned residents, and documents that treatment as required by facility, local, state and federal rules and regulations8. Participates in orientation and in-service training for personnel9. Assists physicians with special tests and procedures within the scope of state specified Nursing Practice Act10. Ensures that supplies are utilized economically and that equipment is clean and maintained in a safe manner11. Coordinates nursing care of residents when scheduled for therapy or procedures by other departments12. Assists with or institutes emergency measures for sudden adverse developments in residents13. Motivates and provides work direction (direct, check, review, organize and coordination) to C.N.As and unit coordinators (no authority to hire, fire or discipline)14. Supervises nursing unit, which includes directing the nursing staff to extent permitted by State Practice Act15. Adheres to infection control guidelines*Competencies* Provides therapeutic and rehabilitative care in accordance with nursing care plan Gives accurate and thorough report at change of shift Collaborates with C.N.A. regarding patients current and change of status Collaborates with patients Inter-Disciplinary Care Team Delegates responsibility appropriately Accuracy of documentation Timeliness of documentation (real-time) Perform IV therapy on patients within LN scope of practice Administers medication accurately, as evidenced by the EMR and lack of negative patient outcomes Encourages patient growth and independence as care progression warrants Takes a proactive approach to checking and stocking supplies*PureHealth Culture*PureHealth is a high performance, ever-evolving environment propelled by collaboration through our LEAD program. This role requires regular walking to various locations around the facility. This role also routinely comes into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. Team member is expected to adhere to facilitys no-smoking policy.*Physical Demands*While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 60 pounds.*Position Type and Expected Hours of Work*This is a position in a post-acute setting that is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers at all levels of the organization3. Proficient computer and Microsoft Application skills. Must have an ability to learn new systems4. Ability to work with a culturally diverse population5. Must have positive communication skills and demonstrated adequate maturity and patience6. Proficient in the English language. Excellent communication (verbal and written), customer service and interpersonal skills7. Must have good organizational skills with attention to detail8. Must be able to successfully prioritize workload, demonstrate initiative, and analyze situations to make sound decisions9. Must be observant and recognize cleaning needs10. Must show initiative and take action on observed needs11. Self-directing with the ability to work with minimal direct supervision12.
