May provide statistical analyses of quality improvement data.OverviewThe - -(GPM) is a new and growing department looking for professionals who are eager to help implement the (SJG) mission of training the clinical workforce, developing and strengthening health systems and patient-centered initiatives, and advancing knowledge to sustain continuous improvement through research. -SummaryGPM is seeking a detail-oriented Program Manager to assist in the design, management, implementation, and oversight of projects and initiatives within and for the Department of Global Pediatric Medicine (GPM) and St. Jude Global (SJG). This pivotal role serves as a section/project team lead for a rapidly growing epidemiology and health economics unit focused on applying decision science and cost-effectiveness analyses methods to inform decision-making at the individual and population levels, in different disease areas including childhood malignancies and other catastrophic diseases. A unique aspect of this program is the opportunity to integrate real-world data collection into applied research. This is a unique opportunity to learn new content in many different disciplines, as well as to develop and conduct new research projects that will be implemented around the world and published in high-impact scientific journals.The Disease Burden and Simulation Program Manager will be responsible for: - Guiding strategic planning efforts for program development and integration with GPM and SJCRH strategic initiatives, as well as helping the team prioritize projects in the pipeline based on urgency and readiness.
- Designing and leading literature reviews to map out and summarize already published materials about different health economics and finance topics.
- Conducting descriptive and basic statistical data analyses to support project and early manuscript development.
- Coordinating visualization development with web development teams.
- Processing large amounts of observed and processed data for economic analyses and parameter estimation for decision-models.
- Ensuring the integrity of datasets used in analyses through development of essential data cleaning, checks, and data back-ups.
- Designing and supporting implementation of primary data collection tools among global partners.
- Applying economic insights in interpreting results.
- Drafting and editing materials for publication and presentations.
- Presenting research at national, regional and international conferences.
- Monitoring and creating progress reports regarding program goals, objectives, activities, and outcomes.
- Assisting in the development of the program budget and monitoring its progress throughout the year.
- Leading centralized efforts to evaluate grant opportunities and coordinate grant applications.
- Overseeing award budgets and processes for the programs and projects within the region.
- Working with communications personnel to develop effective program communications tools.
- Mentoring less experienced team members.
- Acting as a liaison with other members of the department and collaborators to facilitate cross-departmental research activities and ensuring coordination and success of departmental, regional, and/or global initiatives and departmental requirements.
- Organizing and facilitating collaborative meetings within St. Jude and with global partners.
- Traveling to and engaging with global collaborators (travel estimate 15% time).All candidates must submit a cover letter to be considered for this position.Minimum Education
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.
- Master's degree in health economics or a similar field is preferred.Minimum Experience
- 4+ years of experience in program management and delivery.
- Experience designing and managing programs with a focus on customer needs.
- Experience in program budget tracking, reporting and risk management.
- Proven experience engaging with senior leaders to facilitate decision making.
- Experience providing guidance and mentorship within program management team.
