This position will be used to cover LOA/PTO

The shifts and the number of hours will vary considering this position will be utilized to cover all potential shifts that come available from PTO requests and leave of absences.

General Summary

Performs routine and special magnetic resonance imaging procedures. Performs procedures to produce MR images of designated anatomical areas according to established practices and procedures. Performs duties as on call technologist, is able to train new staff, and has passed the MRI advanced level specialty exam as per ARRT.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Performs MR imaging studies; obtains patient history; explains routine procedures and addresses patient concerns.

Under the direct supervision of the physician, administers intravenous contrast media. Recognizes complications (e.g., contrast reaction) and treats appropriately.

Schedules cases to coordinate with other patient examinations.

Positions and transfers patients comfortably.

Immobilizes patients as necessary and practices MRI safety procedures.

Prepares and maintains written documentation as required by the profession and the department.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

Associates Degree Required

Work Experience:

2 years Relevant experience. Required

Licenses:

Registered Technologist-Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) - ARRT Upon Hire Required and

Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required

Courses and Training:

Accredited program in radiologic technology and training in MRI procedures Upon Hire Required
