Laurel Lakes Rehabilitation and Wellness Center is a 186 bed Skilled Nursing facility with a supportive family environment.Diet Technician Requirements:Graduate of two (2) year college with Associate Degree in the dietary field.Must be registered with the American Dietetic Association (ADA).Two (2) years experience as Diet Technician in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related medical facility.Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, the appearance of work areas, and perform regular inspections of food service areas for sanitation, order, safety and proper performance of assigned duties.Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing food practices.Must successfully complete a post offer, pre-employment criminal background check and physical / drug screen.Diet Technician Responsibilities:Maintains records of the patient's/resident's food preferencesEnsures that diet changes and new diet orders as received from nursing service are processed and accurately reflect physician ordersReviews and calculates the estimated nutritional requirements of each patient/resident admitted to the facility. Completes a nutritional assessment upon admission and at least annually thereafter, or as otherwise necessaryPlans therapeutic diet menus as prescribed by the attending physician, including those that are not part of the standardized facility menu.
